Awkward...

This is for all of my clients who sit there with the camera in their face and are like "umm...awkward..." Trust me, I feel ya. As a severe introvert the idea of someone placing 100% attention on me for an hour, AND documenting the results makes me want to scream.  So this is my attempt to show you that while you may feel uncomfortable, it turns out I'm just as awkward as you are! My husband caught a couple of shots of me "doing what I do" at a wedding a few weeks ago, and after laughing at how hysterical I look I thought I'd share my awkwardness with the world.

I don't know how you guys can sit there and take me seriously while I'm putting on these moves...


And if my strange twist and shout moves didn't get them laughing, check out what was going on behind me (have to give mad props to the bridal party for not busting out in hysterics, and even more props to the family effort going into getting the little ones attention. Real dedication)

Garrett is 6 months old!

This little guy just celebrated his first half birthday!  I haven't seen Garrett since his sweet newborn session, and was pleasantly shocked by how much he's changed in such a short time.  Wes, Elise, Garrett, and I met up at Manassas Battlefield (the same location as their maternity session what seems like ages ago) to capture a few shots of this awesome milestone.  Garrett is so, so sweet and even tempered, with the most hilarious, genuine laugh and the biggest, bluest eyes. Such a perfect little gentleman!  Here are a few from our morning together:

If you know Elise and Wes, then you know Garrett is destined to have a little cowboy in his blood.  I love love love this crochet cowboy hat and boot set, so unique!

Jenny + Adam-Ocean City Wedding

I first met Jenny and Adam back in the spring when we shot their sweet engagement session and have been increasingly excited since to get the chance to capture their wedding.  The ceremony was held this past weekend on the beach at the Marriott in Ocean City and the reception down the boardwalk at the Grand Hotel, and they couldn't have picked a more fun, beautiful location.  Jenny and Adam are such an honest, sweet couple and it showed in every aspect of their day; from the little details to the stolen glances.  I hope you enjoy these pictures as much as I enjoyed being a part of them!  Here's a handful of my favorites from the day:

Jenny and Adam wrote each other letters to read before the ceremony, so sweet!





This wedding had a really cool first for me; my husband Mike joined me as a second shooter (and did a pretty sweet job).  He spent some time with the groom while he got ready and captured a few of these shots.


Jenny and Adam wanted to show each other that they were in this together before the ceremony, but they still wanted to hold the tradition of not seeing the bride before hand.  As a compromise they opted to stay separated but say a prayer together. I love love love this.

The ceremony was held ocean front and was so serene and beautiful.
